It was a fine afternoon of winter. The sky was clear and fog was absent. After eating my lunch I took my camera and went to the riverside near my house. During my search out I saw this beautiful bird for first time in my life. It was flying from one branch to another to hunt small insects. As the bird is small, quick and restless it was a tough job to capture snaps of it. Luckily I succeeded in that. The photo given here is one of those.

Story
The two pictures given above are captured on two different days. The first picture of the male bird was captured on the day of Saraswati Puja. The morning was foggy and the Sun was lurking behind joint cover of fog and cloud. However the visibility improved with time. I bathed early that morning to get ready for the Puja rituals. After having some prasad after Puja I was walking down the street in front of my home. Then I saw this male bird sitting on a bamboo fence beside the street. It was singing with a sweet repetitive “Swee-ee” tone to attract its female partner. It was not scared of my close presence. So, I used my camera Nikon Coolpix L20 to capture some photos of it. This is how my journey of Bird Photography has started. I cannot remember much about the photo of the female bird. I can remember only that the bird was sitting in a mango tree beside my house and it was searching for food that afternoon. It was captured with a different camera Nikon Coolpix P510.
