Description
A glossy black drongo with conspicuous tufted forehead and two long wirelike spatula-tipped feathers in the tail. During its flight the two feathers in the tail looks like two large bees are following the drongo. Sexes alike.

Distribution
It is a resident of south India and south eastern Himalayan regions in India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Myanmar, Andaman and Nicobars.

Food
Insects and flies are its food.

Habits
It is a resident of moist-deciduous forest, plains and hills. In the Himalayas it can be spotted upto 2000 meter. It hunts with small and mixed hunting groups associated with tree pies and jungle babblers. Very noisy, can perform various whistling, screeching and mimicry.

Nesting
It creates its nest from March to June. The nest is like a cup created with twigs, rootlets, fibers and cobweb. It lays 3-4 eggs.

বিবরণ
চকচকে কালো রঙের মাথায় স্পষ্ট ঝুঁটিওয়ালা পাখি। লেজে দুটো লম্বা চামচের মতো পালক থাকে। ওড়ার সময় লেজের পালকদুটোকে দুটো বড় মৌমাছি বলে ভ্রম হতে পারে। স্ত্রী ও পুরুষ একই রকমের দেখতে হয়।

বিস্তার
দক্ষিণ ভারত, হিমালয়ের দক্ষিণ পূর্ব ভারতে, বাংলাদেশ, শ্রীলঙ্কা, মায়ানমার, আন্দামান ও নিকোবর দ্বীপপুঞ্জে দেখা যায়।

খাদ্য
কীটপতঙ্গ ও মাছি জাতীয় প্রাণী এর খাদ্য।

স্বভাব
আর্দ্র-পর্ণমোচী অরণ্যে, সমতলে ও পাহাড়ের বাসিন্দা। হিমালয়ের ২০০০ মিটার পর্যন্ত দেখা যায়। পাখিদের (হাঁড়িচাচা বা ছাতারে) মিশ্র দলের সঙ্গে শিকার করে। বিভিন্ন ধরনের শিস, কর্কশ আওয়াজ ও অনুকরণ করতে পারে।

বাসস্থান
মার্চ থেকে জুনের মধ্যে বাসা বানায়। বাসাটি একটি কাপের মতো যা কাঠি, শিকড়, তন্তু এবং মাকড়সার জাল দিয়ে তৈরি। তিন থেকে চারটি ডিম দেয়।

Description

Distribution
It is a resident of northern foothills of Indian Union (In Himalayas can be spotted upto 2000 meters), plains in Bangladesh and eastern side of India to south Tamilnadu and Kerala.

Food
Flower nectar and small insects.

Habits
Arboreal bird. It moves alone, in pairs or with parties. It is a resident of forest or forest edges. It eats flower nectar with its long noticeable curved bill.

Nesting
In north April to June and in south March to April is its nesting season. The nest is like other drongo's nests. At the horizontal end of a branch it creates its nest with grass, rootles etc. It lays 3 to 4 creamy or pinkish eggs.

বিবরণ
বড় চকচকে নীলচে কালো রঙের পাখি। লেজের শেষ দিকটা বাইরের দিকে বাঁকানো। স্ত্রী ও পুরুষ একই রকমের দেখতে হয়।

বিস্তার
ভারতবর্ষের উত্তরে হিমালয়ের পাদদেশে ২০০০ মিটার উচ্চতা পর্যন্ত, পূর্বের সমতলে, দক্ষিণে তামিলনাড়ু ও কেরালা ও বাংলাদেশে দেখতে পাওয়া যায়।

খাদ্য
ফুলের মধু ও ছোট কীটপতঙ্গ।

স্বভাব
বৃক্ষাচারী পাখি। একা, একজোড়া বা দলের সঙ্গে ঘোরাফেরা করে। অরণ্য বা অরন্যপ্রান্তে বসবাস করে। ফুলের মধু পান করে এবং এর জন্য এদের একটা লম্বা বাঁকানো চঞ্চু থাকে।

বাসস্থান
উত্তরে এপ্রিল থেকে জুন ও দক্ষিণে মার্চ থেকে এপ্রিল এর বাসা বানানোর সময়। বাকী ফিঙে প্রজাতির পাখিদের মতোই বাসা বানায়। গাছের ডালের একপ্রান্তে ঘাস বা গাছের ছোট মূল দিয়ে বাসা বানায়। ৩ থেকে ৪ টি ঘিয়ে বা গোলাপি রঙের ডিম দেয়।
