Scientific Name Turdoides striatus Bengali Name Satbhai, Satbhaila | সাতভাই, সাতভায়লা Description Earthy brown babbler with whitish irises and bright yellow bill. Sexes alike. Distribution Resident of plains and hills upto 200meters in Indian Union, Bangladesh and Pakistan. Food Berries, wild figs, grain, nectar, larvae, spiders, cockroaches and other insects. Habits In towns and villages it can be spotted in well wooded areas and near forest. Flocks of babblers jump on the ground to find moths or other insects. During their food search they create noisy sounds. Nesting Nesting season is through the year. Create a cuplike nest in the fork of a leafy branch with twigs, rootlets and grass. Lays 3 to 4 eggs. Both sexes share the parental duties. বিবরণ সাদা চোখের মনিযুক্ত ও হলুদ চঞ্চুযুক্ত মেটে ধূসর রঙের ছাতারে প্রজাতির পাখি। স্ত্রী ও পুরুষ একই রকমের দেখতে হয়। বিস্তার ভারতবর্ষে, বাংলাদেশে ও পাকিস্তানে সমতল ও পার্বত্য অঞ্চলের ২০০০ মিটার পর্যন্ত বাস করে। খাদ্য বেরী জাতীয় ফল, বুনো ডুমুর, খাদ্যশস্য, ফুলের মধু, লার্ভা, মাকড়সা, আরশোলা ও অন্যান্য কীটপতঙ্গ। স্বভাব শহরে ও গ্রামাঞ্চলে গাছপালাযুক্ত অঞ্চলে ও অরণ্যের আশেপাশে বাস করে। একসঙ্গে মাটিতে লাফিয়ে লাফিয়ে মথ ও অন্যান্য কীটপতঙ্গের জন্য ঘুরে বেড়ায়। খাবার খোঁজার সময় খুব আওয়াজ করে। বাসস্থান পুরো বছরই বাসা বানানোর সময়। পাতাযুক্ত গাছের ডালের মাঝে ছাল, মূল, ঘাস দিয়ে বাসা বানায়। তিন থেকে চারটা ডিম দেয়। স্ত্রী ও পুরুষ উভয়েই বাচ্চা লালনপালনের দায়িত্ব পালন করে। |
