Scientific Name Pericrocotus flammeus Bengali Name Sindure Saheli, Sindure Sat Saheli, Sona Pakhi | সিঁদুরে সহেলি, সিঁদুরে সাত সহেলি, সোনা পাখি Description Little smaller than Bulbul. The male has black upper parts and head and scarlet underparts, tail edges and wing patches. It Female the scarlet is replaced by bright yellow. Both sexes share parental duties. বিবরণ বুলবুলির চেয়ে আকারে ছোট। পুরুষ পাখির দেহের উপরের অংশ কালো ও নীচের অংশ সিঁদুরে লাল, লেজের পাশে ও ডানায় সিঁদুরে লাল দাগ উপস্থিত। স্ত্রী পাখিতে সিঁদুরে লাল এর জায়গায় উজ্জ্বল হলুদ রঙ থাকে। বিস্তার ভারতবর্ষে হিমালয়ের ২০০০ মিটার পর্যন্ত, বাংলাদেশ, শ্রীলঙ্কা ও মায়ানমারের বাসিন্দা। খাদ্য কীটপতঙ্গ ও লার্ভা খাদ্য হিসেবে গ্রহণ করে। স্বভাব বৃক্ষাচারী পাখি। সাধারণত জোড়ায় এক ডাল থেকে অন্য ডালে লাফিয়ে চলাফেরা করে। চিরহরিৎ অরণ্যের বাসিন্দা। শ্রুতিমধুর "হুই-টুইট" বা "হুইরিরি,হুইরিরি" শব্দে ডাকে। বাসস্থান এপ্রিল থেকে জুলাই হল এর বাসা বানানোর ঋতু। গাছের বাকল, মুল, মাকড়সার জাল দিয়ে কাপের মতো বাসা বানায়। ২ থেকে ৪ টি নীলাভ সবুজ রঙের ডিম দেয়। ডিমে গাঢ বাদামী রঙের ছিট থাকে। স্ত্রী ও পুরুষ দুজনেই বাচ্চা লালনপালনের দায়িত্ব পালন করে। Story |
