Scientific Name Aegithina tiphia Bengali Name Fatikjol, Pati Fatikjol, Towfik | ফটিকজল, পাতি ফটিকজল, তৌফিক Description Size is similar as sparrow. Sexes are not alike. The male bird has prominent black and yellow color and female has grey and yellow color. In non breeding season the yellow becomes greenish yellow. Both sexes has white wing bars. Upper part of the body is black and grey for male and female respectively. Lower part of the body is yellow. Distribution Can be spotted in India and Bangladesh plain and hills. Absent above 1000 meters elevation. Food Diet chart contains Insects their eggs and larvae. Habits Lives in well-wooded localities. Can be spotted hopping from a branch to another branch in some garden or trees. It can cling from tree branches in various positions. During hopping creates sweet whistling sounds. Nesting Builds its nest from May to September. The nest looks like a cup. It is created with grasses an plastered with cobwebs in a crotch or fork of twig. Lays 2 to 4 pale pinkish white eggs blotched with purplish brown. বিবরণ চড়ুইয়ের মতো আকৃতি। স্ত্রী ও পুরুষ পাখি দেখতে আলাদা হয়। পুরুষ পাখির রঙ ঘন কালো ও হলুদ আর স্ত্রী পাখির রঙ ধূসর ও হলুদ। প্রজনন ঋতু ব্যতীত অন্য ঋতুতে হলুদ রঙ অনেকটা সবুজে হলুদ রঙের হয়। দেহের উপরিভাগের রঙ কালো বা ধূসর হয়। দেহের নীচের অংশের রঙ হলুদ। বিস্তার ভারতবর্ষ ও বাংলাদেশে সমতল ও পাহাড়ে দেখতে পাওয়া যায় তবে ১০০০ মিটারের উপরে অনুপস্থিত। খাদ্য কীটপতঙ্গ তাদের ডিম ও লার্ভা খাদ্য হিসাবে গ্রহণ করে। স্বভাব গাছপালাযুক্ত অঞ্চলে বসবাস করে। একটি শাখা থেকে অন্য শাখায় লাফ দিয়ে দিয়ে চলতে দেখা যায়। বিভিন্ন অবস্থায় ঝুলে থাকতে পারে। চলাফেরার সময় শিস দিয়ে গান করে। বাসস্থান মে থেকে সেপ্টেম্বর পর্যন্ত বাসা বানায়। বাসার গঠন বাটি বা কাপের মতো হয়। শাখা বা পাতার সংযোগস্থলে ঘাস ও মাকরসার জাল দিয়ে বাসা বানায়। ২ থেকে ৪ টি বাদামী রঙের দাগযুক্ত গোলাপী সাদা ডিম দেয়। Story |
