Description
A small brown bird with pale brownish grey throat and breast. On some throat is paler than breast. Underwing is darker.
Distribution
It is a resident of plains and Himalayan foothills in northern India.
Food
Small insects.
Habits
It can be spotted sitting on wires, tree branches or flying with martin birds in the sky near a water source. It catches small aerial insects high in the sky.
Nesting
It nests in tunnels in vertical sand or mud banks.
বিবরণ
ছোট বাদামী রঙের পাখি। বুক ও কণ্ঠের রঙ হালকা বাদামী ধূসর। অনেকসময় কণ্ঠের রঙে বুকের চেয়ে হালকা হয়। ডানার নীচের রঙের রঙ গাঢ় হয়।
বিস্তার
ভারতবর্ষের উত্তরদিকে সমতল ও হিমালয়ের পাদদেশে দেখা যায়।
খাদ্য
ছোট কীটপতঙ্গ।
স্বভাব
জলাশয়ের আশেপাশে ইলেকট্রিকের তারে বা গাছের ডালে বসে থাকতে দেখা যায়। দলচারী পাখি হিসেবে আকাশে উড়ে ছোট কীটপতঙ্গ শিকার করে।
বাসস্থান
বালির স্তূপের গর্তে বা জলাশয়ের ধারের গর্তে বাসা বানায়।
